Sonic the Hedgehog annoys me and what they did to him.
Recolours-
No doubt, when you type in “Recolours” into google. Damn Sonic Recolours come up. They aren’t even good. They are taking characters that belong to Sega and recolouring them to make them look “Cool” when in fact it looks horrible. This ruins the character in general. You can tell they recoloured them on the cheap software, Paint. They don’t even stay in the lines and they use only one colour. No tone at all. Then what they do is, they create a bio for that character that they recoloured, so let’s take Sonic for example, Hedgehogs are commonly recoloured than any other animal in the Sonic series. So let’s say, someone recolours Sonic in red and tries to add “extra features” when in fact they make Sonic look really stupid. A common thing is adding red eyes to their character because they want to look “Sadistic” It’s so cliched.
Bio
When people create their bios for their character, it’s always something stupid, like a stupid name. For example, for this recolour, a red Sonic, they would name him something like “Destroyer” yes,I’ve seen a bio that someone made, they actually named their character “Destroyer” and made him OP (Over Powered) as hell. Which also annoys me, because instead of focusing on both strengths and weaknesses. They focus mostly on strengths. Making their character shoot lasers out their eyes or super strong or something. Sometimes they take abilities out of other game characters or anime characters and put them as their characters strengths. Like a character from Dragon Ball Z, They take a power that they like or want to posses then stick it in their bio, to make them look “Cool” but really, it looks really stupid and annoying.
Rules.
When creating a new character, people always ignore the rules for it and think they can do whatever they like, but what they don’t know is, that there are people out there that really dislike these things and would stop them at any costs. For example, one of the rules is to never God Mod.
What God Mod is, it’s where your character can obliterate anything. So for example, like this “Destroyer” character. He could kill the villains with one punch. Or say if your character wants to fight him, any move you do, he will ignore it and hurt you. It’s very annoying. So like, if you punch him in the face, the person who is controlling the character would easily ignore what you did and probably snap your neck.
Another rule is to let someone finish. So, say if you’re going to attack again, the person has to wait for what you made your character do. Otherwise you could easily ignore a move that they used and attack. Which again, is very annoying.
But back to the Sonic fanbase.
The Sonic fanbase is so bad that they have ruined the image for Sonic. Like in America, where they show these Sonic cartoons and suddenly he has a girlfriend or something, that annoys me, Sonic is meant to be a solo character, someone who is determined to save the world at any costs, not someone who would take girls out on dates. Shipping is fine though. If you ship characters together. It’s fine. It’s your own opinion after all. But showing this on TV annoys me the most, it wastes time when you actually want to see them in action.
Same goes for Shadow The Hedgehog, ever since he got a new voice actor, he sounds like a pervert. Also they give Shadow guns, what is the point in that. In the game, Shadow The Hedgehog (One of the Worst Sonic Games ever) they give Shadow a gun, why does he need a gun or a motorcycle when he’s fast, (basically he skates) and when he could just run up to enemies and kick them in the face, they wouldn’t know what hit them. But no, they gave him a gun.
Don’t get me started on the character design for Sonic Boom. Sonic doesn’t need a damn scarf, he has too long legs so it looks really weird. His arms and legs are blue, when they’re actually meant to be tan, like his mouth area. They made Knuckles huge which is actually scary to look at, as if he was on Steroids. Tails actually looks normal. But as for Amy, she doesn’t look right at all. And they introduced Shadow in the game, which ruins his image again. This is what happens when America tries to increase Sonic’s population.
Sonic was indeed originally from Japan, at least they tried to make him look awesome. But America sadly ruined it. I don’t know if anyone has noticed but on one of the TV shows that America presented, featuring Sonic, they made him look fat and eat chillidogs like no tomorrow, as if they’re encouraging kids to eat.
As for the voice acting, for Amy Rose, they made her sound like Minnie Mouse, it’s so annoyingly pitchy, it makes you want to rip your ears off. Sonic’s voice acting, makes it sound like he’s not normal. Shadow straight up sounds like a pervert. Tails sounds like a female kid. Knuckles just doesn’t sound right at all.
Sonic 06 was horrible. You couldn’t even control Sonic properly. He was too fast and the camera was following him so there was awkward camera angles. At one point he clipped through a bench. The people in the game, has an animation of talking constantly. So if Sonic were to go up to a person and talk to them. The persons text would appear but their mouth is continuously opening and closing. Not to mention that Sonic flirts with a human girl. They even kiss, which was a very cringey sight. A human and a hedgehog. Just no.
